From “I’m Not Special” To Embodied Power
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if the obstacle that keeps showing up is actually the doorway to everything you want? I open up about the recurring soul lesson that shaped my life—“I’m not special”—and show how it evolved from a painful story into embodied power.
We trace the honest, messy middle: family mirrors that echo our inner voice, body signals that refuse to be ignored, and a chaotic snow day that revealed how fast reactivity can spiral. From there, the conversation turns practical with tools you can use today to steady your field and choose your path on purpose.
We dig into the difference between natural talents and true mastery skill sets—the rare 95-to-100 lanes where your gifts meet devotion and service.
I share why leadership, once uncomfortable, became a beloved strength, and why dark force education and energetic hygiene matter when thought contagions are everywhere.
You’ll learn how the law of soul balance operates like a light switch: drift from your higher-self plan, emotions flare, thoughts match the charge, and actions follow. Flip the switch back with a five-second pause, fair exchange checks, and small, clear moves that align your creator field.
If criticism keeps finding you, there’s a chance it’s mirroring your own inner narrative. I lay out how to stop matching that frequency and become the person whose energy invites respect and solutions. We also highlight ongoing community work in the membership: Q&A on soul pull, finding mastery skill sets, and real-time examples that make the abstract feel tangible.

Welcome to Unveil, the podcast. I'm your host, Angela Christian, and I help you with unveiling your true self by peeling away the layers that society placed on you. I do this with a combination of neuroscience, energetics, and ancient spiritual wisdom. I went from underpaid and overworked in corporate America to launching a six-figure company that continues to grow. I went from toxic relationships to being happy and single for over a year as I worked and continue to work on becoming the best version of myself and so much more. My greatest passion is to help women and mothers heal, transform, and become the highest versions of themselves. As I continue to grow and expand my intuitive knowledge and unique wisdom, I'll be including you on my journey to millions. So let's get into it. Hello and welcome back to Unveiled. Today I want to talk about something I don't believe I've talked about before. And that would be our reoccurring soul lessons. Now I've probably mentioned them briefly in other episodes. If you're in my membership, I've definitely talked about them a little bit more. But in every lifetime, there is at least one lesson that our soul came here to master, sometimes more. And these lessons can range from, you know, some people, they their recurring soul lesson. Some people come to learn to love themselves no matter what, or to put themselves first no matter what, or to listen to their internal voice over other people. My particular lesson, which actually this is a lot of spiritual people's uh reoccurring soul lesson, is I'm not special. So what this kind of looked like for me is all of my obstacles, well, not all of them, but I would say the majority of my obstacles in life were very much built around this uh looking at it at the time, going through it, it was affirming I'm not special, right? But now looking back, I'm like, oh, all of these obstacles were to push me until I got to the point where I said, you know what? I am special and I can see it, and there's nobody that can say anything to me that would make me think otherwise. So the reason why it's so key to know your recurring soul lesson in this life and then work towards resolving it is because you cannot fully fulfill your soul poll if you don't resolve your soul lesson. So why would I be focusing so much on resolving my recurring soul lesson? Well, I know that when I do, all areas of life are going to open up for me. So I feel called to talk about this today because with everything happening in the world, it's more important now than ever to be on your soul-aligned path. That's why in the membership last month, I had Brooke come in. She also, uh our conversation was also on the podcast, but I had her come in to my membership where members could submit questions about soul poll because I want to make sure people really understand Soul Pull, and she is the Soul Poll expert. I'm having her come back again this week, actually, inside my membership. I don't know if we'll air this one as a podcast or not, but it's all around mastery skill sets, how to know and find your mastery skill sets, why that's important, all of that. So we're going to draw one lucky member's name and we're going to share their specific skill sets and like give examples based on that one person. So if you're in my membership, just make sure you RSVP to the call. Even if you can't attend live, we're gonna draw from the people who have RSVP'd. And I know several of you already have, but just in case you didn't see my note in the membership. If you're not in my membership, jump in. You can ask Brooke questions, you can ask me questions. It's a fun time. So this is a really important focus right now because what do we need to be on our soul-aligned path? Well, it's good to know what your recurring soul lesson is because then it makes sense. All your obstacles will make sense. And I will share the personal example. I already shared this on Sunday source on my Sunday source. So if you already listened, sorry, I'll try to shorten the story. I have a little bit more to add. Um, and then what else to get onto your soul-aligned path? Knowing your mastery skill sets, right? Because sometimes we're really good at something naturally, but that doesn't always mean it's an it's one of your mastery skill sets, meaning you are one of the best in the world. You could go to the Olympics and compete, all of that. When you find your mastery skill sets, which we're gonna talk about more in the membership, but on a scale of one to 100, it would be anything that you're at like a 95 or higher. And that means that you're meant to not just be really good at it, but to love it, right? So that's dark forces for me. As you can probably tell, I love talking about dark forces. I love teaching about dark forces. It is my highest skill set. However, your mastery skill sets aren't always going to be something that you love, as we talked about in the last podcast with Brooke, such as leadership for me, right? So leadership is actually one of my highest mastery skill sets, but it started out very low. So the thought of me standing up, leading, which I've always been kind of a natural leader as a child, I just never really connected the dots. But doing it now in the capacity that I am, I went from being a little scared to do it to loving it. So it's not always an immediate love, but it is something that you will have a soul love for. So getting back to the topic of reoccurring soleson. So back in November, I was at about, I was about 64% overall of resolving my I'm not special. On a level of knowing and like working around it, I was at like 84, meaning, yeah, logically, I can see how all these obstacles, right? Like to give you an example, I was the only child out of four that was not planned. I was told that repeatedly as a child. So I took that as that I wasn't special. But then as I started looking intuitively and just seeing how everything worked, I was like, oh, I actually had to come in. Like that's how special I was, right? So you can always flip it and see from a bigger perspective. And so my goal has been to not just know it logically, but to know it and embody it and feel it to the point where if someone comes up to me and says, Oh, Angela, like what's up for debate about you, right? Like, can you change this? Can you change that? Then I would say, nothing is up for debate about me, right? I am who I am, I love who I am. So working around it meant logically, I knew that, but I hadn't quite stepped into the shoes of knowing it internally and embodying it. So I am on that home stretch of really getting into the 90s with it, which it's a lot harder in case you didn't know, to go from like if you're working on a skill set, let's say it's communication, which is one of mine. Uh if my communication skills were at a 30, to get from 30 to 70, you can do that actually pretty quickly. Not super painful, but when you're at in that like home stretch of like 10, 15%, it can feel like you are splitting hairs. And in my case, it has been emotionally painful, physically painful. So I'll give you a little example. As some of you already know, I have been dealing with this reflection around uh, I talked about it, I think, on one of my past podcasts, where my whole left uh neck, shoulder, back was hurting so badly. And I knew what that meant. I broke it down. I resolved that piece. But the thing with what's called storybook reflections is it kind of then moves to something else because this is a really massive thing that I'm resolving to be able to resolve my soul lesson. It's not going to be easy. That doesn't mean I have to hate it, but there are things I can do and you can do to lessen the pain. So I was like, okay, cool. I resolved that, the pain was gone, thought I was good. Then uh one of the things I'm working on, and I think I mentioned this in Sunday Source, is I have a tendency to react quickly. And it's not even like a huge reaction. Let's say I get an email from like relating to my taxes or something, and I get immediately annoyed. It's that immediate negative reaction, that's what I'm talking about, even if it's small. So what I'm doing to work on that is I literally just freeze like my body, my thoughts, everything for at least five seconds. I don't allow myself to respond until I've done that freeze. It is now training my neural pathways to take that pause before reacting. It sounds very basic, but it is shifting things. Like I had a lot of positive shifts yesterday from doing all of this. And then the second piece of that is, uh, and you would need your intuition, you know, really dialed in to do this. But when somebody emails me, when somebody asks me a question, when somebody wants my help, looking in and seeing immediately the fair exchange in it, right? Because I know sometimes if you're an expert in something, people will flock to you and have a lot of questions, right? And sometimes it can get a little overwhelming. So if you just take a second and you're like, okay, first of all, it's proof that I'm special, that people are reaching out to me asking me these questions, right? So this is just this is stuff you can do too. Uh second, answering this question is actually going to help boost my channeling skills or my intuitive skills, or I'm gonna help them have a shift, a positive shift in their life. All you have to do is just take a second to connect how you are doing something positive, how it's going to help you, right? Because humans are naturally selfish. So let's just not try to pretend we're not. Everybody is naturally selfish. It's just how humans were created. So if you can just take a second, and this can even be, it doesn't have to be with intuitive clients, it can be with, you know, maybe colleagues at work really love the way you do something. And so you get a ton of questions, like, how did you do that? Can you show me? And you're feeling overwhelmed, like, you know, I don't have a lot of time. How am I gonna respond to everybody? If you can just pause for a second and like note notice it and be like, okay, I'm this is telling me something. First of all, I'm an expert here, even if I don't think I am, they're seeing me as an expert. And then two, how could it benefit you to actually help them? It will always benefit us to help other people. We just have to see it, right? And obviously there's a fine line when it comes to like paid work versus free advice, but these are just things to start considering. And if you have your intuition dialed in, you can definitely look in and say, should this be a paid situation or you know, or see the fair exchange there. Okay, so Saturday was a wild day. It had snowed, my sister's kids were here, my kids were here, it was a wild house. Uh, the kids had walked, you know, behind the house. We have all these, we're up in the mountains with, you know, woods and trees, and they love building things. So they were out of the house. I was getting things done. But I was uh thinking about the situation that's happening at my child's school, just feeling kind of like, well, what am I gonna do if this happens? Like instead of sitting down and really addressing the fear and like worst-case scenario, I just just kind of letting the thoughts kind of stack up. So I went down to the garage to do my laundry. I ended up smashing my left thumb, still bruised and bloody, in the door. Now, normally I would stop there and kind of be like, okay, let's take a step back. Like it hurt so badly, I like felt like I blacked out, even though I didn't, but like time just stood still and it was so painful. I didn't take the time. I had all the excuses. Well, there's all the kids in the house and it's loud and blah, blah, blah. If I had taken the time, I could have prevented the next major reflection, which was uh my mom suggesting you should go check on those kids. And I had been I had been checking on them, but she was suggesting that I go walk out there. Now, could I have paused, like I've been doing and teaching? Yes, I could have paused and thought, and even checked intuitively, do I need to go check on them right now? No, I think they're good. Uh, all of that. But instead, I just reacted. I was annoyed, I was distracted, I was on my phone, and it had been snowing, it was icy, and I fell so hard down the stairs and hit my, I like twisted my left knee, my foot, still all black and blue and painful. And then later that day, I actually my left ear became clogged, and I realized I looked up why that could be, and it's like from whiplash basically from falling. So I had no choice at that point. I was like, okay, I'm gonna sit down and really just figure out what's happening. Uh, but then I was in my mind giving myself a hard time. I was beating myself up, I was criticizing myself. You should have taken time to look at the reflection when you smashed your thumb. Like, why didn't you do that? I was sitting there criticizing myself. So then what happens? My mom, who's my inside out voice, comes in and she's criticizing me about my son's bedroom being messy when all of these kids are here, right? My kids and my sister's kids, and they've all been playing in there. And she can see that I'm like icing my foot. I was sobbing, crying because it was so painful. And at first, I reacted again and I screamed at her. And then after she left the room, I like looked in and I was like, damn it, she was just my inside-out voice. And that was another opportunity I missed to like pause. So then I spent hours, and I'm not joking or being facetious when I say I spent hours, like breaking it all down, going back to like the basics. Because sometimes when you have really advanced techniques, sometimes you can get into the habit of like kind of skipping the basics. And for this, I just felt there's something I need to go back and revisit. And it was the biggest aha moment for me. What I realized, and I want to share this with you. And if you're new here and you don't know what I'm talking about, uh, you can reach out and I can share how to learn more about it. But basically, when we have reflections, which is really just the law of soul balance, it means you're out of balance, right? And it's not something you can just opt out of. It's just like gravity. It's it's going to be happening, happening to you whether you know about it or not. So essentially what you can think about is turning on a light switch. And that light switch, it's both electricity and light at the same time, right? There might be a split second between the two. So, in the same way, when we when we have some kind of limiting thought about ourselves and our soul goes out of balance, why does it go out of balance? Because our higher self has a plan for us in this life. And if we start thinking, uh, for example, my higher self has decided I will resolve this I am I'm not special lesson, right? So when I start thinking human thoughts about like, well, how am I gonna do this? How am I gonna do that? What if this doesn't work? I'm going off that path. I'm going out of balance. So then what happens? That light switch turns on, my emotions go out of balance. Our emotions have over 60% of an effect on our electromagnetic field, right? Which is our creator field. So that just starts putting everything into motion. So then our thoughts start to match our emotions. Then our ego jumps in and says, Oh, yeah, these thoughts are mine, even if they're not, uh, which is a whole different topic. But the brain matches the emotions with the thought, and then that starts a little thought spiral, which is always fun. Then your actions start to match as well. And our actions are really powerful for our creator field. That's why when I'm working with clients, I always give energetic and action steps because you have to have the two. So why this is an issue is because all matter, which is situation, circumstances, people, how people treat us, all of that is dictated by our creator field. So, for example, if I hadn't been criticizing myself and doubting and all of these things, I would not have been a match for my mom coming in and criticizing me. And in fact, when you can get to the other side, right? So instead of thinking, uh, I'm not gonna be able to do this, I'm not gonna be able to do that, if I were to flip it and say, you know what? I am so capable, I'm so special, I get treated like a queen. Uh, oh, that was the other thing, is my mom came and criticized me. I forgot this part. And then my stepdad went into the his bedroom and started cleaning, and I could hear them in there talking about how messy it was. That shouldn't have bothered me. I could have looked at that like, yep, I'm a queen. They're cleaning up my room because I'm a queen, because I'm special. But I didn't. I started criticizing myself more, like, well, that means I'm a bad parent, and this, and even though that's not true, I mean, a kid's room being messy, I personally think it's okay. My parents are a little bit different about that. I feel like kids should be able to mess up their room and play. It was just forts and stuff. It wasn't like there was old food and stuff. It was literally just like a big fort. So if I wasn't a match for the criticism, none of that would have happened. Or I would have just been like, cool, they're helping me, right? So when you achieve balance internally, you will see balance all around you. And what's really cool is when you have some kind of obstacle or issue in your life, when you're balanced, that's when the solutions can actually come in. So I've noticed that many times. When I'm spinning, when I'm like criticizing myself, worrying, the solutions don't feel like they're showing up. But the second I'm like, you know what, I've got this, I'm gonna neutralize, I'm going to clear this out, then all of a sudden the solutions start flooding in. So now it's a really critical time in the world for you, for everyone to step into the person that your higher self designed you to be, right? And the world around us has been actually trying to keep us off path, which is a whole Dark Force topic. If you haven't gone through my Dark Force free series, definitely do that because we need energetic protection, energetic hygiene now more than ever. Things are going to get crazy. And with all these thought contagions and social contagions, meaning other people's thoughts, other people's emotions, other people's plans getting implanted into your head because again, thoughts and emotions are contagious. You need to have a solution on how to stay clear on your path, right? So circling back to your recurring soul lesson. Why is this important to know? Well, because you can start kind of seeing how the obstacles, they're not preventing you from reaching that, they're actually helping you. So this weekend, like I'm still in pain. This weekend was an emotional, painful uh all of it. But I'm so grateful for it because it got me to this point where I'm like, I don't care if they're criticizing me. Right? It got me to a point of realizing I need to not criticize myself if I don't want to hear that criticism from others. And it sounds so basic, but also flipping. Flipping that. When my mother criticizes me, because she is my inside out voice, meaning she's going to do whatever I'm doing to myself, basically, to help me wake up. She's not the villain. She's just playing the villain role for me. When I catch her criticizing me, I need to do the five-second pause. Thank her in my mind. I wouldn't say it out loud, but thank her for doing that. And then I also like to just check on a level of one to 100 how rooted she is to what she's saying. Because if it's low, which it usually is, then I'm like, okay, it's not even her saying that. It's she's just playing that role, right? So that would be the same thing if you have a partner, they would likely be your inside-out voice. And you could test that if you have your intuition dialed in, just how rooted are they to what they're saying? Likely it's low. That immediately should help kind of reduce, you know, the need to react. So me resolving this lesson will look like stepping into the shoes of who I'm meant to be, not just knowing I'm special from a thought per perspective, but really feeling that. Because then when I feel that, there's going to be people who just no longer even match my frequency, and they'll turn to somebody else to start criticizing. So once I'm fully embodying I am special, right? My mom's not going to criticize me anymore. She'll criticize her husband or somebody else, right? So that's why it's important to understand, and I've seen this come up a lot lately in my one-on-one private reads, is I've been pulling everybody's reoccurring soul lesson, and I'm showing them how their reflections have been tied to that to help them resolve it. So I hope that makes sense. And definitely email me if you would like me to dive further into anything. I've been a little delayed on some things because of these massive reflections. There were also some Dark Force energies at play when I fell down the stairs, just being transparent there because I've been doing a deep dive into the files, all of that, doing a lot of channeling. And when you're deep in that information, I do recommend taking breaks because it was increasing my levels of anger, that's for sure, which increased my levels of criticism and all of that. So there's an art to being able to digest that level of evil. Anyway, I will end there for now and sending you all so much love. Bye. Thank you for listening to Unveiled.
